 FRANCIS JULES - "The Liquid Spiller"

 

Francis Jules is a Rotterdam based DJ who's been active spinning records from his first encounter with a turntable somewhere from the 70's till now.
      His diverse knowledge of music from Soul, Funk, House (and everything else danceable) makes him the flexible and equipped DJ that he is.


          A successful songwriter and producer, Francis has worked with the extremely talented Rosie Gaines and Prince.

Together they have written songs for: 

  • ‘Burnin’ the Grammy award winning Patti Labelle’s album (1991).
  • 'Closer Then Close' the garage tune from Rosie Gaines that hit number 3 in the English charts for the 5 weeks running in 1997 and was mixed by several top DJ’s like Franky Knuckles, Hippie Torales.
  • ‘Don’t Let 'Em a P-Funk tune written for Bootsy Collins’album Play with Bootsy in collaboration with Rosie Gaines and Snoop Dog (2002)


   Francis has based himself in his native city Rotterdam (The Netherlands) after worked with several artists worldwide.
    With his talents, experience and knowledge, Francis started together with his sister Joja Jules and Paul Williams (Incognito, Light of the world)

A production house The Liquid Spillers.

From here he has surrounded himself with a group of talented new DJ´s and Producers exposing and creating the international sound of Rotterdam.
      As a DJ, Francis turned the tables in several well known Rotterdam Club’s

Like, The Reefer, Off Corso, Las Palmas, Zin, Dizzy, Calypso, on a T.V program ‘the Bar’ and the party ‘Low Key Lobby’, where Francis got a lot of credits from the crowd for the good vibes he was playing.

Francis style is tribal yet techy, flavoured with some funky and progressive beats, that creates his own sound know like Urban Tech Funk
